Preparations are as simple as tisanes or teas, made by properly
infusing the dried herb in hot water (always pure, most
especially free of chlorine.) The nutrients, vitamins, minerals,
antioxidants and other healing properties are preserved in the
dried herb intact as Nature intended. Your skin (your largest
organ) is wonderful in its ability to breathe, absorb and feed
your body, as well as act as a barrier against pollution and
disease. The use of herbs enhances your body's innate ability to
stay well and healthy. The quiet ritual use of herbs is
grounding and rejuvenating to the spirit. Eating well, getting regular rest and outdoor exercise and following other good rules for wellness will be a help in assisting herbs restore a healthy balance to the entire body. Herbs in general do not give instant results, and should be used regularly over a period of weeks, sometimes months to produce a lasting beneficial effect. The beneficial use of herbs is our birthright and connects us to the natural world around us. And while proper use of herbs can be useful for maintenance or recovery, careless or excessive use of certain herbs can be hazardous. Because you prepare the application fresh for yourself, there is no need for chemical preservatives. Your infusion, while best prepared fresh every day, can be stored up to one week in the refrigerator. The unused herbal preparation can be stored for up to one year in a dry cool place with little deterioration of strength. |
