About the Plant

Rose de Mai Absolute is extracted from an erect shrub that grows to 3 to 6 ft high, with the branches closely covered with straight thorns and glandular bristles of various sizes and forms. According to some sources, this rose is the result of a hybrid of Rosa gallica and Rosa centifolia, others state that it is produced from Rosa centifolia alone.

Perfumery: Blends well with many aromatic essences, including absolutes of jasmine grandiflorum, orange blossom, cassie, boronia, beeswax, clary sage, geranium, patchouli, sandalwood, and clove bud; and with essential oils of clary sage, geraium, bergamot, sandalwood, pathouli, guaicwood, rosewood, and agarwood.
